Joy

Dec.1,2018

Last Thursday night, I attended Worship Night at one of the ministries on our university campus. The atmosphere was so free and the Holy Spirit was definitely in that room. Throughout the night, joy kept coming up and it made me feel a certain way. Well, one of the elders got up and spoke on how during this holiday season or just life period, don’t just be thankful, have joy. He explained how we just don’t need to be thankful but have joy as well. How no matter what we have going on, always be thankful and obtain the joy of the Lord. And he wasn’t saying be thankful and have joy because of our trials but because we trust God and know He’ll be everything we need. Once he explained that, I immediately knew God was speaking directly to me.

The holiday season is my favorite season of the year. It gives me the feels of family, love, peace, laughter, and happiness. The past two years around the holidays something has happened and kind of dampened my mood. Whether its missing a loved one, not being able to spend time with all my family, or feeling alone, leaving jobs, friendships/relationships, I have been down until that Thursday night. My perspective and life changed forever. I knew that no matter what, God is forever here and His joy will exceed anything I feel or think. So with several things coming to an end in this season of my life, I have God’s joy and I know it will be my strength. I trust Him and believe everything I am going through will get better and it won’t always be like this.

This isn’t a long deep blog post but for those who have been feeling depressed, lonely, or going through different trials, seek the joy of the Lord. It will be your strength. It’s been only a few days and I can already tell a difference within myself and mindset. Once you change your perspective, I promise you’ll feel better. I’m not saying it will happen immediately but just to know you’re making progress to have faith in God and be thankful and joyful no matter what your situation is, is amazing.

So during this holiday season and the years to come, think about God’s joy and everything He has in store for you no matter your trials and tribulations. I know it can be hard and tough to get in the holiday vibes but God is here with you. He’ll be and give you everything you need in this life. I pray that you heal and trust Him to get you through your difficult journey. It won’t always be like this! Be Thankful! Choose Joy, Peace, Happiness, and GOD! I love you and praying God’s promises be fulfilled in your life.

The Gift

Dec.9,2018

I was walking down a road one day, just a walk to think. When I saw a gift along the road wrapped all pretty in pink.

I opened the gift and looked inside there sat a pair of shoes… The brilliant voice of God then said: “Wear them, they’re for you.

They’re much too pretty to wear I thought so I carried them along the way. When I saw a gift wrapped in gold, and then I heard the Lord say:

“This too is a gift for you so you’ll have to search no more.”

I opened the gift and found Joy and wondered what was this for? Well, I picked up my shoes and Joy and continued down the road, when I saw a gift wrapped in white that seemed to carry a load.

What a strange gift, I thought, and then, once again, I heard the Lord speak…”Take this gift home with you, but don’t open it for a week!”

I tried to pick up the heavey gift but it wouldn’t seem to move. So I had to wrap the Joy around me and slip into my brand new shoes.

I lifted the gift and took it home, for one one week it sat on the shelf… God said: “You can open it now.”.. and when I did, I saw myself.

God said “Keep looking my child for this is the greatest gift thus far, I give it to you to have a friend and show how blessed you are.

The shoes I gave you is for your journey, they’ll help along the path you take. The Joy I gave is out of love, thank my son, it’s for his sake.

You see this last gift I give you, is the most precious gift of all, I give it to you for strength and courage to carry on when you fall.

This gift is heavy for a reason.. it has everything that you need, It made you put on you’re shoes and Joy and you didn’t even see it.

It taught you to have patience while just sitting on a shelf. It taught you to have faith in me, while showing you yourself.

I give my precious gift to you, and in it, everything that you see. My precious gift I’ve wrapped in white…You, My Spirit, My Son, and Me.”

“I AM B.A.M. ACTIVE!”

What is a B.A.M. Activist?

By agreeing to become a “BAM” Activist you’re agreeing with this ministry to Believe and Move! As an activist you are letting it be known that your faith is active and living. You are making your first move of active faith in pledging support to this work.

By pledging support you are not entering into any type of binding covenant. You are simply affirming to us that you desire to be a part of a great network of believers and movers. We are here to empower one another. As being a part we desire your participation through prayers, skill sets, services, and donations if led by God. But more importantly we desire to see you grow as we encourage you to become active in the B.A.M. movement!

As an activist you will help make the “BAM” tag go viral as a way of reaching and helping other women win their warfare. It all starts with FAITH! We must believe then we move. If you believe God has placed it on your heart to connect with this ministry, make that initial faith move. Send us an inquiry then we will begin to discuss your BAM action plan. After that you will be a part of our support team as we inspire others to B.A.M.

As an activist you will:

  • Be willing to take risks.
  • See the value of today over “one day.”
  • Be energized by change! Don’t run away from it.

  • Take total responsibility for your life. Don’t blame others.

  • Develop tenacity. You’ve got to learn to stick with something, even when it’s hard.
  • Be willing to do what others are not, even if that includes grunt work—and it will include grunt work!
  • Finally, take action NOW. You have to start where you are, since you’ll never be in any other place than where you are. Right here, right now is the point from which you’ll move forward.

Go!

Jan.3,2019

Perhaps you feel invincible, or you think you may have time.. So you surrender to flesh and think as the world. Even though you know you are mine.

You know that I will not let you go and the path you’ve chosen is a dead end. I can not allow you to be happy without me. For there is no true happiness in sin. Satan has a goal in mind and his mind is set on you. He won’t be satisfied until you’re burning in hell, but I will not allow you to.

So I’ll have to take you through some things to try to help you understand. That you have to put your trust in me, instead of putting your trust into man. I will have to process you, that will separate your spirit from flesh. Now, ….satan will ask you “Is your God still here?” And the answer will ALWAYS be YES!! I just can’t let you give into the world, just because it “seems” the easy way out. I can not allow you to think it’s okay to know Me, and still fear and doubt. I have given my people a vision, and I’ve included you in that plan. And if you’re wondering why it’s you that I’ve chosen; it’s because “I AM that I AM”…

And you know enough about me to know that my love is great. And you know it’s because of my Son, that you’ve been saved from hell’s gates. So why do you continue to run, when you know there is nowhere to hide. My son’s blood is on your head. Your hiding place was revealed as he died.

Although I give you free will and free choice, and so I say this, that you may know. I will not stop being present in your life…so you may as well go where I say Go!

Seek My Face

May 7,2019

I’ve given you your daily bread.

I’ve shown you yourself, brand new.

I’ve answered prayers and supplied your needs.

Now I ask one thing of you…

I ask you, simply, to seek my face.

Seek me with everything you have.

As you seek, I’ll reveal myself

And bless you, on my own behalf.

I will mount you up as an eagle,

And place you high among man.

You will know mercy, grace, glory, and peace,

That many may not understand.

If only you just seek my face,

Riches will be given unmeasured.

Unknown gifts will flow from your spirit,

And my visions I’ll give you as treasures.

You will know my glorious wonders,

Just keep your eyes on me..

In your faithfulness, I give you the promise,

Of salvation to your family.

I see that you are a faithful servant,

And I tell you I am well pleased.

Seek my face, and I will reveal all that’s yours.

Things that you never thought you would see.

Restored into Recovery

April 11,2019

“Then Jesus said to me, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

~ Matthew 11:28-30

Easter is coming up and you can definitely tell. Stores are putting out Easter baskets,

schools and churches are coming up with Easter egg hunts/activities, people are shopping for their Easter outfits, and families are coming up with menus for their Easter dinner. It’s so much that we do for the holidays, especially Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and I can go on and on.

But do we really know the true meaning behind them? Easter is the specific day we set aside to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus was sent to die for all of our sins and on the third day he rose. He carried our burdens to the cross and was restored into recovery (rest or a normal state of health, mind, and strength). And just like Jesus, some of us are being restored into recovery as well.

Lately, I have been working so hard to make sure I achieve my dreams and goals, with

my number one priority being finally graduating from college. I would have been graduating this May but that won’t be the case. I’ll be graduating next year in May. I have put in work so my graduation will manifest and I’ll achieve one of my many dreams. Another dream is beginning my brand/career. It has been hard during this process. I have doubted myself and everything I dreamed of ever achieving when it came down to my business and brand. And I am sure that’s how the people closest to Jesus felt during his time of restoration and recovery. They didn’t believe Jesus would rise up or manifest. Like the scripture says, “All of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, I will give you rest.” For whatever you’re going through He will give you rest!

Our dreams may not manifest in the time we want them to. It may take days, months, or

even years. God’s timing is the perfect timing. So, if you’re believing your dreams have died because you don’t see the manifestation, or even if you’re just going through a difficult time in life right now, give it to God and in return he’ll restore you and give you REST! Don’t let your discouragement, disappointment, and sadness consume you. Be still and know that God is God.

The manifestation will come if it is in God’s will. As I am writing this, I am encouraging myself to keep the faith and find rest in God. You should too!

I love you and praying for and with you that God gives you rest and that you keep the faith.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”

The Power of a Mother’s Love

May 3,2019

“MOTHERS are magicians. They turn pain into hope, hardships into lessons, and tears into laughter.” – Love & Sayings

A mother’s love is something no one else can touch. No one else can give us. No one else can amount to. No on else can get rid of. A mother’s love is A MOTHER’S LOVE. I can say that because of my wonderful mother and the mothers I have grew up around my entire life. My mom has always been there for me. No matter what I did. She never judged me. She still provided. She still cared for me. She still let me know that she will always be here for me no matter what. Not everyone has a mother such as mine, but I know the love that they receive from their own mother has led and directed them through certain situations in life.

I remember when I was going through my depression and suicidal faze. My parents had no clue I was in that exact state, but my mom knew something was up. She would say or mention some of the slightest things that would turn my sadness into a smile. Most of the time, a mother knows what to say or do because she simply just knows her child. There were times when I took my mother for granted. Once I got older and seen that there were other girls my age or younger who had lost their mother or weren’t close to her at all. Seeing those girls in those situations made me love my mom more and be grateful that I still have her.

A mother can help you get through the roughest and toughest times of your entire life. A mother can simply say, “I love you” and it makes you the happiest girl in the world. A mother can make you so mad, but at the end of the day know how to get back on your “good side”. A mother doesn’t have to be biologically yours. She’s someone that has loved you like you were her own, cared for you, protected you, guided you, taught you valuable lessons, made you her family, and plenty of other things a mother would do. No mother and child relationship is the same, but it has true meaning.

The power of a mother’s love embodies a beauty and heroism that no other human love could give. There is no love as pure, unconditional, and strong. A true mother’s love brings wisdom, guidance, a love that will live on through generations, prayer, never changing, will shine, healing, great teaching, and compassion. Her love will display a belief in you and it will lift you up. She will be your rock. Your world. Your pillar of strength. Don’t take advantage of your mother and all of the love she gives. We never know when we will lose her.

For the ones who have already lost their mothers, carry the memories you had with her throughout your time together. Continue to cherish those memories and take them with you everywhere you go. The love she had for you, give it to others around you and even your children. There is always a piece of her with you and it can go on for generations to come. After all, a mother’s love is just that powerful!

Restoration

June 10,2019

If you’ve been on this earth for longer than 5 mins, you’ve experience hurt. My pastor has said that phrase many times and it is so true. We are not exempt from being hurt, overwhelmed, rejection etc.

Some believe God to be almost like a genie, you can make wishes and everything comes true and it’s utopia 24/7. In actuality, it’s not always utopia but you learn how to stand in the midst of upsets. James 1: 2-4 explains that we should count it joy when we experience trials for it produces faith. If I can be honest here, this sounds terrible. I don’t want to feel or experience trials. However, I can attest to the scripture that my trials have produced faith, strength, courage and many other things in me that are bigger than my right now. See the trials are always for preparation of your calling but also to make you look more like Christ.

Jesus Christ was the ultimate restorer and we can guarantee we will see restoration for our trials. God does not intend us to experience trials whether from him or the enemy to leave you stagnant but to make it work out for your good (Romans 8:28). Restoration is the perfect will of God no matter the circumstance. Restoration can appear in the form of a restored marriage, friendship, family relationship, finances or God can restore the hurt and pain in your heart without physically restoring any of the aforementioned.

Psalm 23:4 becomes more real than anything during these times. Trials sometimes do feel like the valley of the shadow of death. Our hearts are ton, egos bruised, world seemingly falling apart, but we come to understand in restoration the depths to our soul to be restored in love, see happiness and be thankful again.

If you are in the midst of a stormy trial and it feels like you will see no end, know that God can redeem time and fix any situation. If the situation isn’t rectified, he can give you peace and the healing you need to move forward.

I encourage everyone reading this to stay connected in community with people who speak life into you but also hold you accountable. Seek counseling if necessary and stay on your knees with God. Love covers a multitude of sins and Jesus Christ’s love has covered every one of our sins. If restoration isn’t something you can handle at the moment, take it one day at a time. Just trust the process and be gentle with yourself.

Release the pain everyday if you have too. One day at a time, a day closer to restoration.

I love you – God

CONTINUING ON…

Jul 12, 2019

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast”.

~ 1 Peter 5:10

When approaching a challenging situation what is your thought process? Do you build yourself up to take on the challenge headfirst, do you look for an alternative route around the challenge, or do you give up before taking a chance? Depending on ones mindset a challenge can be viewed as one of two things. For some, a challenge is an opportunity to discover a new way to become realigned with life. For others a challenge is something new for them to complain and stress about.

When a challenge occurs, it causes disturbance of some form. Disturbance can be defined as the interruption of a peaceful condition. Not all challenges are negative. Some come to shake you into a better position than your current, BUT you must see it as such. Allowing any challenge positive or negative to place fear on you is considered bondage.

There are many things physically, spiritually, and emotionally that develop against us to keep us confined. It is up to us to be aware of the bondage and break free. As a young, black American woman, with three children (having my first two by age eight-teen)

society has placed many judgements and limitations on how successful I would become in life. If I were to have embraced these limitations, I technically would not be this far along in life. It can be extremely difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel when all odds are stacked against you. The key is knowing the light IS THERE.

Acknowledge Your Thoughts “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ”

~ 2 Corinthians 10:5

Recognizing the thoughts, you entertain is a key factor of your situation’s outcome. Dr. Lisa Firestone speaks on the importance of your thoughts in her article The Importance of Choosing Your Thoughts. For so long I would constantly allow myself to listen to and believe all of my negative thoughts. “There is no way you will be able to graduate high school with a baby; your life is over”. “You must be crazy to think you can complete this medical assisting program with two kids and a full-time job”. “No one is going to support you while you pursue your associate degree”. “Being at a university is going to be too challenging, you might as well give up now”. “You are not capable of owning and operating a business”. “You don’t deserve a happy healthy relationship”.

When I would entertain these negative thoughts, I was placing limitation on my life and the lives of those around me. I had created a hole for myself and all the things that made me feel COMFORTABLE. Anything that fell into the hole and caused a disturbance pushed me to keep digging my hole deeper in effort to run from what I was unwilling to face.

The moment I allowed myself to acknowledge my thoughts and the effect they had on my outcomes, it was time to SHIFT. Prayer, faith, and God’s word has been my source of hope. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”.

Proverbs 3:5-6 From my experience with doubt and fear I have discovered the power that comes when I speak victory over myself. Instead of speaking against what I am capable of I started to speak highly of my capabilities. I began to view myself in a way that would be pleasing to God.

Feeling confident in myself and the way God needs to use me comes from the Holy Spirit. I have chosen to no longer allow myself to be ruled by flesh. I now understand that God created me with a purpose. It is important for me to think and act in the spirit at all time.

When you take control of your thoughts and place them in a positive place, you open your self to great and endless opportunity. Find Your Strength “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 Along with recognizing your thoughts, strength is needed to push through challenges. Strength is needed physically and mentally. When things are going well, and you are in a comfortable state there is a sense of security.

In contrary, when your situation changes and the disturbance comes,

you are placed in a position to fight or flight. Understanding that challenges and disturbance are going to happen at some point in life is important. What is even more critical to understand, is you have all the tools you need to overcome ANY challenge. Once you have begun to acknowledge your thoughts and place control over them you must ACT.

You must make a mental and physical effort to remove yourself from anything that is not benefiting you and your journey to a greater future. This may include letting go of people and/or things that have severed you for years now but have become more of a burden than a blessing. When you find your mental strength to acknowledge the people/things that need to be removed, you must apply your physical strength to make the change happen.

It takes strength to make changes and it also takes strength to carry those changes out. Use your mental strength to assure yourself though the changes are hard, they are a contributing factor to a successful and healthy future. Use your physical strength to discover new habits that allow you to grow and become more in tune with who you are and what you stand for.

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”.

~ Bob Marley

I have been faced with several challenges along my journey. Some challenges being more severe than others. Rather small or large each challenge put me in a position where I had to decide if I would conqueror or be defeated. In some cases, although I may have felt defeated, I still allowed myself to gain from the circumstance. I may have gained knowledge on how to handle a situation differently, patience with others inconsistency, or simply understanding that things will not always go my way.

By allowing myself to receive these lessons I was able to accept that God has the final say.

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

~ Proverbs 16:9

Press Forward! Once you have acknowledged your thoughts and found your strength it’s time for you to soar. Open your mind to believe you can go higher. Allow your visions of your future to blow your mind! There is no limitation on your life. God is mighty in all His ways.

Despite the negative thoughts that try to curve my focus, the failed relationships that left me heartbroken, and other challenges that surface, I had to accept that I AM enough. I had to believe in myself to know that EVERY challenge I have faced and will face serves a purpose and even if it slows me down it can not take me out of the race.

As a reminder even when you get on track with your walk with Christ, challenges will come but you can do this. You are bold, you are enough, and you deserve the very best that life has to offer.

I challenge you to acknowledge your thoughts, find your strength, and continue your walk towards your destiny with your head held high. Be wise enough to filter your thoughts properly, be strong enough to face any challenge that develops against you, and be bold enough to GO FOR IT.

POSITIVITY

May 2020

BAM MOVEMENT Monthly Inspirational Blog

Creating a Culture of Positivity

By BreAnn Robinson

Staying positive can always pose a challenge to anyone when dealing with the shenanigans of this world. The media only seem to share and promote the negative while providing us with sprinkles of the positive. I have come to learn is that I have to be the light! I have to perform my share of generating positivity for those that want, need and desire it. Believe it or not even those we see in Hollywood or those rich friends we have and even our most intelligent friends cope in silence of their own misfortune.

In today’s society we have to create the movement of effective positive thinking, positive speaking and positive actions. We have to take back what belongs to us and be the model for the younger generation. Even though it can be hard, effective positivity starts with our thoughts. If we think negative those thoughts are transmitted throughout our brain which leads to negative actions.

We don’t want that, nor do we need that. So, you are probably wondering, “how do I combat negative thoughts and actions?”, well no worries you came to the right blog to get the answer.

One thing that I avoid when I’m on my positive movement wave is staying away from those people that only releases negative frequency waves. I refrain from all communication of people that GOD has already removed from my life. Interactions with those people develop negative thoughts; therefore, stay away! They were removed for a valid reason. During my life experiences every time my positivity wave is at its highest frequency, the enemy finds a way to try and detour me from my destiny

However, I use the skills I’ve learned in my profession of being a Behavior Analyst and plan ignore, give it no attention and repeat positive affirmations out loud to myself while looking into a mirror. This is what you do!! You develop how, when, where and why you are doing your positive affirmations. Just like when our stomach growls we eat. Same with positive affirmations; when we begin to think negative or someone comes with negativity shout out a positive affirmation.

I command you today, heed to what Ecclesiastes 9:11 says “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happened to them all.” Which basically means we all deal with misfortune throughout our life, but I say to you that we can endure. We have to remain positive and that starts with not envying our friends or other people. Knowing when to remove yourself from situations and people that are not positive thinking.

The positive movement starts with positive thoughts then actions. As you start your positive movement consider my favorite two favorite quotes. One is by Ralph Marston“Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So, choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving toward something.” I firmly believe that, and you should too! Our lives are always moving toward something and I know its towards the positive destiny that was bestowed upon us.

Lastly, my other favorite quote is by Mary Lou Retton “Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you.” I’m a firm believer of this. I keep all negative thinking people at a distance. Not saying that they are not good people, but their negative thinking only wants company and if I cannot bring them aboard the positive wave train, then I remove myself. As a positive thinker, optimistic junkie, and solution driven individual, I employ you to take these quotes and incorporate them into your own lives. You will begin to see your thinking pattern, attitude and actions change.

I challenge you now!! Take a week and start doing positive affirmations every morning when you are brushing your teeth, driving to work or even walking into the office. And when you encounter negative thinking or negative people say a positive affirmation. Watch doors begin to open for you, and you start reaping everything that you have been wanting, needing and desiring.

Sending you positive vibes!! Peace, love and the grace of God!!
